Based in Silverstone, David is our resident expert on all things at our home circuit. From local intel of where to stay if you’re visiting Silverstone to knowing about the latest and greatest events going on at the circuit and in the surrounding area, David is our guy. He handles events for members in the Midlands and is helping SFC Silverstone grow its relationships with local companies in and around the circuit.
When Nigel Mansell’s tyre blew out in Adelaide 1986 and he lost the championship, David became transfixed with Formula 1. The emotional moment, the exclamation from Murray Walker, the speed of the cars and seeing everything the drivers put into going 200mph around the circuit all accumulated in the moment David became an F1 fan. It was a few years later when the very same man he’d seen lose the championship in 1986 joined Ferrari that prompted David to pick up an Enzo Ferrari biography. The man, the moment and the monument with his desire to race being the driving factor to develop his car company let David know there was no doubt which team he would be cheering for.
Like most Tifosi, David’s favourite circuit is Monza, only made the more special because he was there when Charles Leclerc took his Ferrari victory in front of the home crowd in 2024. The emotions of the moment and celebrating with the Tifosi under the podium are memories that will live long in David’s memories as some of his most cherished. He too has his eye on the Japanese Grand Prix and would love to go and experience F1 racing around Suzuka. A lot of our Area Liaisons have Suzuka on their bucket list… Perhaps a group trip is on the cards?
With David’s love for Ferrari running so deep, we thought he’d be the best person to tell you why you should be an SFC Silverstone member: “The community of SFC Silverstone is everything. Finding a tribe of like-minded folk that you can share your love with is practically priceless. There is always someone you can talk with about Ferrari, whether it be racing or road cars.
