Adrian Hussain – Overseas Correspondant

Dean became the vice president of SFC Silverstone in 2026 after being treasurer of the board in 2020 utilising his day job as an accountant to help the club from a financial perspective. As vice president, he is responsible for helping Jason with the day-to-day running of the club, making sure the best deliverables are offered to members to give the best value for money for members.

The moment that caught Dean’s eye in Formula 1 was when Nigel Mansell’s tyre blew out in Adelaide, 1986, and he lost the championship. The raw emotion of the moment and how seismic it felt in British sport was enough to get him hooked. It would be a few more years (ten to be precise), however, until Dean let the red in. Too many times did Williams drop champions the year after they won the title that his patriotism ran out.

He always had a love and admiration for Ferrari, the team optimising Formula 1 and being evocative with passion, history and prestige in the sport. That tied in with the phenomenal talent that is Michael Schumacher – the 1996 Barcelona Grand Prix that Schumacher won in the rain being Dean’s best race of all time – and Dean was a Tifosi before he realised. He was lucky to go to his favourite circuit – Suzuka – for the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix and has the Circuit of the Americas high on his list of circuits to visit.

So why should you become a SFC Silverstone member? Dean’s reasons are: “One of the best things about SFC Silverstone is the wonderful memories and bucket list moments we’re able to provide for people. The Ferrari Factory Tour, Italian Grand Prix – getting members into the Tifosi stand at Monza overlooking the pit lane – these are unforgettable experiences that you can’t get unless you’re Scuderia Ferrari Club member and it’s always a joy to help members achieve their dreams at these events.”
